Neven Petrovic was born in Požega, Croatia in 1982.
He completed his BA studies in Cinematography at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, and MA studies in Photography at the same Academy. Through master thesis Observing Space, as well as through photographic project Coulisse, he combined empirical and scientific approach to the space of his hometown.
He had solo exhibitions at the Gallery Ciraki in Požega, Cultural and Information Centre in Zagreb (2007.), SC Gallery in Zagreb, and City Museum of Požega (2014.).
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions and festivals, among which are: Rovinj Photodays (finalist in 2011.); T-HT Award @ MSU (Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, 2013. and in 2015.); NEU/NOW Festival (De Brakke Grond, Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2013.); Oh, Our Beautiful Homeland! (Art Pavilion, Zagreb, 2013.); 17th Japan Media Arts Festival (The National Art Center, Tokyo, Japan, 2014.); Slavonian Bienniale (Museum of Fine Arts, Osijek, 2014.); ESSL Art Award (Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, 2015.)
He was part of the research team in the project Creative markers on the role of creative industries in the development of the city, and has participated in the project Made in Ilica which addresses the problem of the disappearance of local crafts in Zagreb.
His series of photographs have been included in the permanent collection of the Zagreb City Museum and the Museum of Arts and Crafts.
He lives and works in Zagreb.
